It’s critical to recruit, support and elect candidates and allies in the LGBTQ+ community to public office because it helps ensure that the perspectives and experiences of the community are represented in the decisions made by all levels of government. This can help to create more inclusive and fair policies for all of us.
- ES will only support one candidate in each race.
- Candidates will oppose conversion therapy or other efforts to repress LGBTQ+ people’s freedoms.
- Candidates will support and defend marriage equality for all.
- Candidates should have relevant experience or training for the office they seek.
- Candidates will support efforts to fully fund public education.
- Candidates will oppose efforts to use public funds for private education.
